While Springstone School was on break, our contractors arrived to rip out, tap off, and clean out the kitchen for the first stages of construction. Despite our best efforts to disconnect the kitchen fire alarms, one disconnected line set off the system triggering a visit by the big red fire truck.... so good to know it all works... just a false alarm this time around : )

While these appliances have served us well... they have all reached the end of their lifespan and will be recycled to make room for all new equipment. This week, the executive council is working through the specifics of the final contract to ensure the t's are crossed and the i's are dotted. Once signed, construction will begin on November 8th with a target completion of 70 days. Stay tuned for photos and updates along the way... this week it has been about clearing out the space in preparation for the contractors first day on site... Very exciting!
It is with a deep sense of appreciation that on a day full of foul weather, we gathered enough folks to meet the quorum requirements and voted to authorize the OSLC Council use the remaining balance in the Parsonage Proceeds to complete both the kitchen renovation and take on repairs in the Main Hall. This blog can be accessed by using the banner page on the OSLC website to get to this page.
Our gratitude for those who also contributed to this project. To date we have received over $10,000 to help up get cooking! |
